One of John Kricfalusi's visitors asked him what timing was, when he linked to my set of B.C. gags this week. John K. answered him politely, but here is a more visual reply, to which I would add: timing is restraint.
Incidentally, when the military finally came up with laser-guided bombs, nailing a target with them was called "zotting", in honor of the BC anteater -- who sometimes showed up in combat unit emblems.
