A Cautionary Tale
Saturday Leftover Day.
These days, we give Will eisner grief for his handling of Ebony, the african american sidekick of his hero The Spirit. In fact, eisner himself stopped using him after the war for the same reason. And sometime we add how much Eisner must be forgiven because he was aprt of a culture that wasn't sensitive yet to these things. But we rarely see what taht meant. here is what Eisner was up against, in a book of the company is partner Busy arnolg had started, a lovely little story by another industry legend, Rudy Palais.
