Wednesday Extra Day. 

 I am selling Sunday tabs of Bill Schorr's first comic strip outing, Conrad on Ebay right now. I have some samples if you follow the link. Schorr's second outing was more sucesfull, but also a bit more mainstream. A delightfull cartoonist, he struggled to find his niche.

Hopping Through The Ages

Sunday Surprise day. For today's surprise I am showing quite a later strip than usual. Conrad is a mid eighties fantasy set in a fairy tale world of princesses, frogs and hairy godmothers. Artist Bill Schor was one of a host of political cartoonists who tried to follow Jeff McNelly's succes with his 1977 hit Shoe. I remember seeing this strip on my first trips to the US and being very impressed. I hope you enjoy them, there is more to come.

One Froggy Sunday

Sunday Surprise Day. I was out for two weeks (but prepared last weeks entries beforehand). Just back, I just have time to share these two Sundays of the first of political cartonist Bill schorr's two comic strips. In a period of the eighties and nineties, follwoing the succes of Shoe, almost every political cartoonist tried his hand on a newspaper strip. Stilistiscally they were all special but only a few sirvived (such as Wiley's strip). I have a whole month of dailies I have to scan and clean, but these are nice too.
