Sunday Meskin Measures.
Like last week, I am having problems with opening the older House of Mysterys in my Mort Meskin collection. So to day, I am showing some of his last published work. I was prepared to be heavily disappointed and maybe because of that I wasn't. At the end of his career Mort Meskin didn't do his best work. But the spark was still there, as the first and second stort here show. The third one is very badly worked out in my opinion. Stock figures abound and the sameness of the angle on the rocket makes for some very dull lay-outs. And it shows the one thing I think Mort Meskin was not good at: creating interesting monsters.
