No Laughing Matter

Thursday Story Strip Day.

A couple of weeks ago I showed the first month of Andrew Paine and Elmer Wexler's Vic Jordan strip from, an exciting an extremely realistic spy strip from the rare PM Newspaper. This time we have the whole of January 1942 wher we see Vic rescuing some friend from the French resistance from a 'concentration camp'. Apparently the name was known as ealry as then, although it seems it was taken to be some sort of prison camp, instead of what we now know. I have added one of the rare signed advertising strips by Wexler from the early fifties where he used a remarkably similar clown...
