Saturday Leftover Day
No matter how succesful you were as a cartoonist, for every artist working in the forties and fifties, getting a newspaper strip or at least a daily cartoon pamel was othe Holy Grail. Cartoonist Hoff was one of the last ones to have some sort of succes. In 1959 he found buyers for a very small daily cartoon, which vouldbe added to any newspaper. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long. After a couple of months, the panel stopped in the paper I clipped it from but Alan Holtz (from the always informative Stripper's Guide blog) informed me that it ran until 1977.

Hi Ger -- according to my records, Laugh It Off ran 1958-77. Bit more than a few months!
Best, ALlan
I should have looke dit up in your book. This was apparently just one paper, but it kept going. I'll adjust the info.
