Wednesday Illustration Day.
Roy Doty did a lot of spot illustratios for various magazines. He was one of the artists promoting the 'mdern' style that would overtale alal cartooning in the sixties. Not unlike the more artistic Jim Flora, he has not been remembered as well. Only a few collectors know his name, but in the fifties he was everywhere. His biggest claim to fame for us comic collector types would be his run on the tv spinoff Laugh-In Sunday panel in the early seventies. I am cleaning up a larger lot of them, but here are some I did earlier (again).

I'd argue that many people also knew him (including me) from his Wordless Workshop which ran for years in Popular Science and Family Handyman.
I'd love to see a sample.
And I can! Here are a lot of them, haven't found a way yet to dowload them: http://www.popsci.com/archive-search?query=wordless%20workshop
I'm sure to many Gen Xers like myself, he's most associated with his illustrations for Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing (1972).
Always enjoyed his work.
