Having showed George Crenshaw's Muffin strip, I saw I had some more of his earlier panel, Muffins. It's in the Hank Ketcham style and I believe Crenshaw even worked for Ketcham at some point. Even thought there was too much of that style going on at some point, looking back on it you have to admit that some of it sure was perty.
