I picked this story of the Digital Comic Book website and forgot to note which book it was from. The artist (whose style I like a lot) seems to be Carl Hubbell, who I know to have worked for Gleason. But this was from a different publisher and quite unexpected. Maybe a filler at Harvey or something at Magazine Enterprises.
