Saturday Leftover Day.
Ring Lardner was a very well known writer of sports columns and novels and plays with gangster types, best know from his owrk on the muscal Guys and Dolls. His son, JOhn Larner dabbled in the same genres, often taking over from his father. He also was a bit of humorist, as is shown in some of his other work. Here is an early sample of a newspaper strip he did in the early forties.
