Give Us Our Daily Gag

Wednesday Wild Card.

Back in the day, every syndicate had it's own daily gag panel title. Some even had two or three. What I likeabout these is, that they give a good crosssection of the journeymen cartoonists of the forties and fifties. The guys and girls making up gag after gag and selling them to anyone who would buy them.

Laugh Time seems to have been a shorter running series from King Features, whose This Funny World was the best paying and longest running series of them all. Here, in September 1948 you see all the big names of that period (Reamer Keller, Harry Lampert, Lamb, Swan, Al Kaufman, Harry Mace, Mort Walker, Ali... and a few moonlighters (guys who must have done it as a side job).
