Murky Mort

Sunday Meskin Measures.

After last weeks brilliance, the Mort Meskin story in Young Brides looks like a bit of a letdown. There doesn't seem to be a lot of interesting stuff happening, there is nothing special to the splashpage, the ending is downright dull and for most of the story the characters are just standing around talking. I don't know who'se responsible for th inking. Jim Vadeboncoeur doesn't specify anyone in his notes. I see some dark splodges that were George Roussos trademark, but Meskin himself could throw them around as well. In the end I think the biggest culprit in the murder of this story is the coloring, though. Too many pale blues and terrible oranges. To me the shot through the trees on page three is the nicest and most original one.
