Two more Mort Walker gags from Varsity. The first one was taken from The Missouri Show Me, the university newspaper Mort Walker worked on. It was published in the January 1950 issue of Varsity, after he had already done new stuff for them and after he had already started his successful career as a cartoonist, so I guess it's first publication must have been one or two years before that. Stylistically, it even looks older than the page of gags from that same paper I showed in my earliest post.

The first cartoon was published in the February 1949 issue of Varsity which has the "Love in the Funny-Papers" cover.
