Here are two more of the wordless book reviews Milt Gross did for Ken magazine in 1939.

From the April 14 issue:

From the May 18 issue:

I'll try and get the last few next week.

At last a book I've read! The review of The Big Sleep is hilarious. Milt should have storyboarded the movie adaptation. I love the shop with the sign, "Clean Books."

Thanks for making this tuff available. Alison Bechdel (Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, Dykes To Watch OUt For has a great illustrated review of Jane Vandenburgh's new memoir in the Sunday, March 29 issue of The New York Times Book Review section. Though not wordless like Gross', it show its own kind of genius.I've commented on her review and linked this site (Bechdel herself steered me this way) at The Cabbage Rabbit Review of Books and Music (www.cabbagerabbit.com), which also includes a ahdnful of (humble) contemporary comic reviews. The Fabuleous Fifties is full of treasure. Thanks!
