By George, he got it!

Thursday Story Strip Day.

As promised last week, here is the second part of the Buck Rogers story by George Tuska, I begon two weeks ago. You will have to go back there to read the whole thing, which I recomend. Consider it my companion to the George Tuska interview in the new issue of The Jack Kirby Collector (#54).

Nice looking Tuska, Ger. Sad to report though that George passed on on Oct. 15 2009.

Thanks for the notice. I don't know how I could have forgotten it.

Thanks again for your excellent collection. Viewing them in order one can see Tuska experimenting with a "look" for Buck. In the earliest stories Buck seems stuffy and almost middle aged. By the time this story came out, he was younger and approaching the final Tuska design. But some drawings, especially profiles, still look a little "off."

Tuska's drawing was quite different from Murphy Anderson's, and Rick Yager's cartoony Buck was even further from Tuska's style. I'm guessing Tuska put a lot of effort into developing his own version of the character during those first years.
