Ketcham B.D.

Saturday Leftover Day.

I am currently collection a large run of cartoons from Collier's magazine. Here are two by Hank k=Ketcham and three by Harry Lampert, just to get your attention.

The third cartoon was by Harry Lampert, who drew the origin story of the Golden Age Flash. He seemed better suited to magazine cartooning than to comic book work.

Yes, I included that for Paul Tumey, who was interested. Lampert was a pretty good cartoonist, indeed.

This cartoon by Harry Lampert shows that Jack Cole was not alone in publishing both in comic book and magazines. I also have some Collier's cartoons by 1940's DC artist Hal Sherman...

Oh, yeah. There is lots of fun creators to be found and many more interconnections, which is sort of the stuff my blog is made of. I will be showing some Lampert and Sherman cartoons, as well as cartoons by Disney fugitive Dick Shaw, Disney mainstay T. Hee and animator Sibley. I have one early cartoon by Gene Hazelton and hope to find more. But no other early comic book artists as far as I know.

Oh, I forget Garrett Price, who did a newspaper strip in the late thirties before turning to cartooning.
