Here's To You, Mr. Masterson
Friday Comic Book Day
Since I am showing Jerry Robinson's work with Mort Meskin I thought I would show some of his later solo work here. After doing Jet Scott he sort of disappeared from comics, but in th elate fifties he returned with Bob Forgione to do Dell's Bat Masterson. At first, Robinson inked Forgione's pencils, but later on he took over the whole thing. And with great effect. I especially ike the black and white pages, where we see a bit of the early fifties Robinson, a bit of the newspaper artist he was in the midfifties and even a bit of the more abstract cartoonist he would turn into in the sixties..
