Mum's The Word
Monday Cartoon Day.
Mr. Mum was nobody. He was an ordinary man, walking through an absurd world. For more thnn ten years, Irving Philips presented him with one insane situation after another. I think, that if you take all the Mr. mum panels (and especially the Sundays) and put them altogether in a smart way, you'd get one hell of a modern silent graphic novel about man's inabillity to connect with the real world. Or at least one hell of read.

These strips/panels really were brilliant. A local paper carried the feature back when I was in high school and I loved it; I find that I enjoy it even more today. Thanks for posting.
If you like these, I should try to find and scan some samples of the Dutch cartoonist Yrrah.
