Monday Cartoon Day.
Some time ago I shared some cartoon by Fitz Wilkinson, that were syndicated under the title That'll Be The Day. All my samples were from the late fifties, but Alan Holtz' great new reference book American Newspaper Comics says it ran from 1951 to 1962. A little online search told me that it did indeed and I will be showing more of those later. But first I have some of Wilkinson's earliest work, a run of cartoons done for the Air Force News in 1943/44. He seems to have burst unot the scene fully formed, except maybe for his distinctive signature, which doesn't appar until he starts working professionally in 1945.
