Female Illustrator
Thursday Story Strip Day.
I have done posts on Bob Oksner's forties adventure strip Cairo Jones twice before. Since I have some new scans that go in between those samples, I have copied both here to give you an overview of this series - ending in a set of not very nicely colored Sundays from 1947.

Great stuff Ger, thanks so much for posting! Another 'lost' gem. Man, and I thought I knew some stuff about old comic strips! I guess I have to study more! What fun!
Rich, the whole point of my blog is to show how underreseached and written the fifties are. I am glad to be able to show this stuff. And there is so much more, especially if I go 'sideways', illustrations Stan Drake did for Argosy, a forgotten strip by Lou Fine, a fully illustrated book by Milt Gross, the illustration career of Otto Soglow... i can go on for many years...
Well your efforts are much appreciated Ger, thank you! The work you've posted has inspired me and my art and I try to send more people (who should be coming here) to your site via my meager TWITTER following. I look forward to more, THANKS!
