The Good, The Bad and the Soso

Sunday Meskin Measures.

After two iffy Mort Meskin stories, this week I am presenting one that is more certainly his, although it is not signed so an involvement of George Roussos is possible. In fact, I do see some of his touches (crosshatching, shadowed faces, wild eyes) but not in such an abundance as he could use them in some of his other work. This is typical of the sort of work Meskin did for Prize in the early fifties. Functional, but not great. In fact, most of these stories have one or two points of brilliance and this one seems to be without. Scanned it myself, though.

The most interesting thing here are the panel designs. Especially the first showing passage of time.
