Funny Drawings
Tuesday Comic Strip Day.
Here is a small selection of Saleman Sam Sundays from the twenties by the original artist on the strip, George Swan and his successor, C. D. Small. Paul Tumey has written about this funny strip on his screwball comics blog (which you can find in my list of inks on the right). He has 'one of Swan's last Sundays' from March 1927 and that fits in with my findings. On the earlier ones, Swan also did a funny illustrated title. On the laer oens the title was replaced by an completely different strip altogether. That may have been just in my sample paper, though.
