I do not know what the full story behind Flamingo is. Maybe Alberto Beccattini can provide us with more information. The only reference I could find to this strip was the fact that Alberto gave Alan Holtz some information on inkers of that strip for his essential book on American Newspaper Strips. Anyway, Ruth Roche, who signed it was an editer at St. Johns. The other artist's name means very little to me. Here are a few stray dailies plus a couple from Heritage as well.
