Monday Cartoon Day.
Bill Yates was a prolific cartoonist, who took over the editorship of 1000 Jokes from Mort Walker in the early fifties. He also edited the similar Dell magazines Ballyhoo and Laughing Out Loud, but his work appeared everywhere. These color cartoons are from The Sunday Pictorial Review magazine section. In 1960 he created Professor Phumble, which brought him even closer to the Mort Walker style than his cartoon work.
