Mort Meskin's last contribution to Headline involves two of his most simplified stories. I don't think he would have gotten away with this at any other publisher, but the germ of his talent is still visible. Soon after this he would join DC and start putting a little bit more fnishing on his products.

There's kind of a Keith Giffen vibe in this art style, no?
It's that ol' nine panel grid. Very typical of the comics format. When we use it in Europe it gives a whole different dynamic.
I was thinking Giffen too but also in the shading. Reminds me a lot of what Giffen's work looked like on Justice League #13 maybe?
