Bear With Me

Tuesday Comic Strip Day.

Although it seems that Yogi Bear's newspaper strip has more fans than the Flintstones', often made by the same team, I personally have more with the latter. Still, here are some nice samples of the Sunday only Yellowstone inhabitant.

Thanks so much for posting these strips! Is there any list of this artist's work? I would like to buy some books he may have illustrated.

Such a great website, thanks so much for your efforts!

I am not as familiar with all the artists involved with Yogi and The Flintstones, but if you google Harvey Eisenberg or follow the tag here, you'll find lots of cool stuff. Eisenberg is one of the artists inovolved. Also, keep an eye out for when I am ging to auction off part of my collection. That will include a lot of Eisenberg drawn Tom and Jerry.

Try my link to John Kricfalusi for more on Yogi and I think there is a stash of Yogi's on comicrazy's. And probabl some flintsones as well. I have quite a substantial run of Yogi Bears and will be adding those to my blog over the next few months. Even this one isn't the first. Try the tag for more.

Groetjes uit Canada, Gerrit!

Just saw your Comment posting from May, in my 'Jacovitti' blog entry.. Sorry, I didn't respond sooner. Did you say that you have some Jacovitti on your blog here? Please LMK the Link!

Bedankt!

Rich,

I have no Jaccovitti on this blog. I used to read his strips and cartoons in the Dutch comic weekly Pep and may some day scan and share a couple of those. After visiting your blog I came across an Italian fanclub blog, which had a whole series of books. Unfortunately they seem to have closed down a couple of years ago. I would love to get some of their publications.

Those are Eisenberg (the earlier ones) and Hazelton.

I'll do a post on it and send a link to yours.

Great stuff!

It's also included on this topic, that Yogi Bear Sunday page from 1963 (drawn by Dick "Bick" Bickenbach), where Yogi recieves a Dutch family, which was visiting the Jellystone Park.

The three last Yogi Bear Sunday pages (all from late 1965) were drawn by Iwao Takamoto.

Only a correction: the three last Yogi Bear Sunday pages from this selection (dated from 1965) were drawn by Jerry Eisenberg (who's Harvey Eisenberg's son), and not by Iwao Takamoto.
