Sweet Tootsie

Wednesday Advertising Day.

Apparently, it's 'haven't I seen this before' week here at The Fabuleous Fifties. Today I am sharing a lot of Captain Tootsies ads from the 1950/1952 period from DC's Western Comics. These are all the ads that appear in the first forty issues. They are from the comics, but all the comic versions I have seen up till now were recut from newspaper ads. These are all signed by Bill Schreiber, which fits the Bill Schreiber signed ads in the newspapers at the same time. I can't wait for P. Hamerlinck to finish his article on all Tootsie ads, if only to see if he missed any.

D_mnit!, Captain Tootsie! How am I supposed to get “more experience” catching rat'lers without catching rat'lers?

I love Captain Tootsie, if they made a hardcover reprint collection recoloured of these ads I would totally buy it and read it 1000 times over.
