Flopley Flop
Tuesday Comic Strip Day.
Emil (Zek) Zekley assisted George McManus almost form the earliest years of Bringing Up Father. Some sources say that towards the end he may have done whole dailies on his own. Still, when McManus died in 1954, Zekley did not get to continue the strip. The syndicate gave that job to veteran Vernon Greene. In 1955 Zekley came with his own comic strip, Dud Dudley. It turned out to be, well... a dud. As we can see from the 1956 newspaper clipping, Mcmanus did provide for Zekley in his will, although he apparently had to sue for it to get paid.
