Big And Bold
Saturday Leftover Day.
The more I see of this strip, the more I like it. I has style, action and good stories. Unfortunately, it seems the reprint series from classic comic press (to get their books, use the link on the right) has halted for now and that is a shame. So here is a short sequence from 1954, just to tease you.

Hi Ger -- Love your blog! I'm curious -- do you collect actual strips cut out of newspapers? If so, how do you store them? Thanks...
All color scans are my own, made from whole Sundays I bought on ebay or clipped series (although I prefer the former). I rarely buy dailies. The black and white samples are usually from the paysite NewspaperArchive. They have millions of papers in microfiche form, accessable online. The greyer photo's are from the now defunct, but still available through a backdoor Google Newspaper Archive.
I save my papers badly. I have tried to stack them by year, but there are too many. At the moment some are put away in a cubboard and the rest is strewn around my office room at home in stack called 'scanned' and 'not yet scannned'.
Everything I have on the blog I also have in 300 or 400 dpi on my computer and I regularely share those with publishers or people writing an article or book.
