It's On Old Dawn

Thursday Story Strip Day.

I have shown color samples of Val Heinz' Dawn o'Day before. He was one of the lesser known Caniff influenced artists of the early fifties. And the strip itself was surprisingly fun. Since then I have been looking for more samples, but they were hard to come by. I found a run of dalies that were so small I wouldn't evne try to show them here. And in five yers I have not come across any papers on ebay that had this strip. Finally I ran across a short run of Sundays on Gollgle News Search. Only a small portion of the four years that this strip ran and not in the best condition, but it does include almost every strip from the last half year. Dawn o'Day was one of those strips that linked the Sundays and dailies in one storyline, but I think these are very readable without the dailies as well.
