Monday Cartoon Day.
If you collect cartoons from the forties and fifties, as I do, you can't escape Stan and Jan Berenstain. These husband and wife cartoonists were regulars in most major pulications. With their gentle humor and modern style, they fitted the mood of the times perfectedly. Their regular spot was in the weekly magazine Collier's which is online completely, so collecting cartoons from there is laborsome, but doable. The Berenstains are in each issue, usally twice, with one free cartoon and one panel in their regular series Sister. In the fifties Sistr (already a four panel cartoon in Collier's) was transformed into a daily and Sunday newspaper strip.
