Yummie Mummie

Saturday Leftover Day.

Last Thuraday I mentioned Old Glory Story, a historical strip drawn by Rick Fletcher and written by Athena Robbins. In the late fifties she also wrote this informational series about food.

So who is "Cosmo"? S/he draws well.

I looked it up at the time... his name is Cosmo Demeduc, 'just' an illustrator, no comic artist. Nothing much to be found about him on the internet, escept some more illustrations in the Chacago Tribune.

Hi Ger --
Never seen these before. Was there any sort of series name? Was it part of an ad or just a weird informational strip? Hard to tell from this repro, was it a color Sunday strip?

Thanks, Allan

They were clipped from the free Chicago News (I think) site. They seem to have been in black and white, in this format. Sunday strip like, but not in the comic section but on the food page. They also inlcuded a recipe which I did not copy.

It was the Tribune. Very hard to navigate, but they turn up in a google search and because of their dimensions they are easy to clip with screencaps.

I am a relative of Cosmo Demeduc (married into the family). Fascinating man - let me know if you have any questions!
