Plain Material

Sunday Continuing The Story Day.

After having shown most of the cartoon series in the issues of the Bradbury Cppanies Air Force Sunday Newspaper section AAFF (America Air Force Features), here is another regular strip, which was more serieus. Illustrated by industry regular Carl Pfeuer (who worked here, there and everywere) it is quite heavy and plodding. On the other hand, no online site ever has mentioned this huge body of work Pfeuer did.

Apparently there's something I didn't know about US airline history. The way this series of ads stresses using "the scheduled airlines" implies that there were enough unscheduled airlines to make them worry. I can imagine that sort of thing in the 20s, during the early days of air travel. But not by the 1940s.
