Sunday Toth Day.
Tody I am finishing off my run of Alex Toth's Sierra Smith stories from DC's Dale Evans Comics with an older one I skipped. I thought I hadn't scanned this one before selling them off on eBay, but it turns out I didn't scan it because I had already done so years ago.

Toth To A Flame
Sunday Toth Day.
This is the last Sierra Smith story alex Toth did for DC's Dale Evans Comics. After this I can go back and do the fifth one, I thought I did not have but found in another folder. After that, we go to other Toth drawn DC books. Toth had slowely been reaching his transformation from a illustrators school artist to a master of black and white. The story I showed last week was the pinnicle of that evolvement. After that, this weeks story seems a bit lacklustre. But it's still Toth...

Simplify, simply, sim
Sunday Toth Luck.
I almost forgot to add my next Alex Toth drawn Sierra Smith from DC's Dale Evans comics, but here it is at the last moment. The splash seems a precursor to Toth's 'new' style of the fifties. We know that he was looking at illustrators around this time to learn more about staging and simplifying his work, although it too at least another eight years to come to fruition.

No Question About It
Sunday Toth Triumph.
Continuing my run of Alex Toth's Sierra Smith stories from DC's Dale Evans Comics. There is a link to yesterday's Casey Ruggles post. In the early fifties Alex Toth also did a well remembered and even reprinted run as a ghost artist on Warren Tufts' daily strip.

The Totheth With The Mosteth.
Sunday Comic Book Heroes Day
Skipping Dale Evans #5 (which I ahevn't got) we go to the next Sierra Smith story by Toth. It's down as being inked by Toth himself, but there are a ot of similarities to the way Joe Kubert handled his brush back then.
