Do the Muggy.

Friday Comic Book Day.

Today I am showing you scans I didn't make myself.

Here is another Muggy-Doo story by Irv Spector which was sent to me by Shane Glines. It comes from Muggy-Doo #14, which seems to be a cheap early sixties reprint of one of the first four (and only) issues by IW. IW bough a lot of printing plates from all sorts of companies and tried to make a quick buck by publishing his own books from them, without asking for permission for them. In some cases he got away with it, in some cases the originalk owners tracked him down and asked him to stop or struck a deal. In the end, he left us with a whole slew of comic book reprints from material that would be more expensive if we want to buy the originals.

The story itself features my favorite character from this book, Osh. I had assumed he was a kangaroo, but he is a long faced straight up walking dog, just like Pogo's Beaureguard.

I wish I had Alzheimers, at least they are working on a cure for that. I had two bunches of scans from Shane and assumed I had picked the first one last time. I corrected the mistake and replaced the story by the one I hadn't shown yet. In the meantime Shane has bough another issue and is sending me new pages from that as well.

Well, kudos to the both of you then.
And thanks for (re)introducing me to all kinds of amazing comic art.
