Flagstones, Meet The Flagstones

Sunday Leftover Day.

Not satisfied that the earliest Hi and Lois Sundays were from 1958, two years after the first Sunday was supposed to have appeared, I went back and searched this particular paper and found this run from a early 1957.

Een reactietje gewoon om even te laten weten dat ik dagelijks je blogje bezoek en daar vreselijk van geniet.
Wat een fijne frisse en heldere strip kom ik daar tegen zeg.

If I were a publisher I'd start with the Color Sunday pages. Not only are these very funny (containing a lot more slapstick than the later years), the second phase has some of Dik Browne's best and most celebrated experimental pages (manysomeof which were shown in black and white in the Bets of Book). For the format I'd ape the good selling Mutts Sunday books and I'd throw in a Hi and Lois Beautiful Sundays Calender.
