Digging My Own Graff

Sunday Leftover Day.

Here are somemore of the Graff signed Patsy adventures that look to me like Sickles may have had a hand in them, continuing form yesterday. Like some of my regulars, I dig those Caniff imitators (often assistants trying out on their own).

Guess we'll never know for sure what Sickles did on Patsy. And I'm not sure that much of the work that has beeen credited to him on Patsy really is his. It's more likely that Graff was really good at the Sickles style.

But if you look at the very first week of Patsy dailies signed by Raab you can see the work of Milt Caniff and Frank Engli, that is one thing I'm sure of. :)

My first thought was that Graff must have been very good at aping Sickles as well. Even his earlier strips look a lot like his. But there is a huge differenc bewteen Graff's 'own' style which showed up later on Secret Agent X9 and that of his years on Patsy.Still, you have probably seen more of this strip than I have. I'll be showing that first week of Raab's Patsy on thursday.
