Ahoeaaaah Moment
Thursday Story Strip Day.
Last week, I was surprised that the Tarzan story by Bob Lubbers I had shown wasn't actually the first one. Today I found out that I had grabbed the wrong file from my folder. So here it is, Bob Lubbers first beautifully renderen Tarzan story. As you can see, the Sunday storyline (some of which I showed last Saturday for the same period) is seperate.

This isn't the first Lubbers' Tarzan either. He also drew the previous story 7/31/50 to 9/15/59 as well as finishing off the story before that that Nick Cardy had started.
Lubbers is to me the finest of the Tarzan artists. And certainly the most underrated.
I've bought a lot of Bob's artwork over the years. And it's given my a tremendous amount of satisfaction. Glad this forum gives me an opportunity to say a belated thank you to a great talent!
P. S.
That second sentence would probably read better if it went, "& it's given ME a tremendous amount..."

One day someone will have to do a complete collection of Long Sam. I have been olding off posting them here, because the dailies and Sundays tell the same story and I would want to do whole stories only. I do have a longer run from he late fifties, but it takes a lo of time to scan and prepare the dailies (as they are printed in a magazine six to a page).
I completely agree with Joachim Gunnarsson's comment on Bob Lubbers.
he's always been my all time favorite Tarzan comic artist,.
Unbelievably underrated.
No decent reprints of his great Tarzan comics (Dailies and Sundays)yet(except for quality Italian reprints years ago)
