War Is Hell (But Necessary) 15

Chapter 15

As you could clearly see in the stories I shared last week, one thing that Chapman's stories have in common is that he always uses a strong narrator, who states his case and is allowed anything to tell his story. And one of the most unique tricks he used was the fictional headline. Here's one I showed earlier, the first time he used this device.

Chapman's next war story is a WWII one, but I am showing it anyway, because of it's use of  headlines (and Russ Heath magnificent art).

Faking newspaper headlines was no easy or cheap thing in the era of the Linotype.
